Kabaray is the product of a meeting between four artists coming from different backgrounds; fashion, music, literature and performance, and the exchange of their work and ideas, which developed into a show that explores and reinterprets traditional cabaret. Kabaray is a grotesque parody of the cliches attributed to women as commodities which progresses throughout eight main acts. The flexibility of cabaret allows the show to include various disciplines such as dance, video art, live music, monologue, poetry and performance, all of which merge into a unique show thanks to a unified aesthetic and sound track generated by the beats of a 70’s drum machine. The sound of the analog drum machine and the visuals with the black space illuminated by LED and neon lights, make of Kabaray a punk-like new wave show performed with the burlesque flavour of cabaret.
